We know your time is as valuable as ours. A little effort now can make the difference between a safe and successful spa move and foreseeable added charges.
At BOWER SPA SERVICE, we want to make your spa move prompt, efficient and as inexpensive as possible. All you need is a tape measure and a way to send pictures to our cell phone if there are any questions. (Note: Some of the following applies to each and every spa move, and some may not apply to every situation).
NEED A QUOTE ESTIMATE? PLEASE MEASURE THE SPA WITH THE COVER REMOVED. (Example 84” x 90” x 36” high). We cannot give an estimate without that information. When possible, please include the age and brand of the spa. It helps us with weight and size questions. Then, please call us at (541) 787 1191 so we can discuss your spa move and access. ACCESS OVERVIEW AT A GLANCE:
- YOUR LOCATION(S) MUST HAVE SAFE, REASONABLE ACCESS. We do not move spas at any or all costs. Safety is always our top priority. Steep terrain and dangerous pathways may require you to hire a crane service.
- We do not need to back right up to the spa in most cases. We generally park on the street or driveway.
- Gate openings need to be at least 35" wide at the narrowest point - or 1" wider than your spa is tall without the cover. Please consider any protruding gate hardware in your measurements.
- Our equipment is SIX FEET longer than most hot tubs and will add SIX INCHES to the height of the spa when it's on its side on our Spa Kart. This is important in checking overhead clearance!
- We must have clear access and room to work around the spa with a minimum of 18" on at least three sides. There are exceptions - sending pictures will help us decide quickly.
- We DO NOT lift and carry spas up and over fences, deck railings or obstacles by hand. Most spas move on their side on our Spa Kart or Spa Sled Mover (see pictures above).
- We DO NOT lift spas out of decks or holes, or place tubs down into them - even if it's only a few inches or halfway down.
- We cannot make tight turns - your pathway needs to be fairly straight as our Spa Kart is 12 feet long. Long, wide corners and most backyard and side yard pathways are generally fine.
- Your site(s) MUST be clear of obstacles before we arrive, and your spa drained and disconnected from power. Please drain the spa the day before if possible so we aren't working in standing water.
- Our Spa Kart allows us to move spas over dirt, grass or regular gravel quite easily. If you have deep pea gravel, a very muddy or soft path, you may need to lay down planks or plywood prior to our arrival, but that is generally unnecessary. If you can walk without sinking, it's probably fine.
- It is the homeowner's responsibility to disconnect the electrical prior to our arrival - we can only cut the wires to your spa and tape them up. We cannot perform electrical work of any kind or connect wiring to your spa. Please consult a licensed electrician to be safe.
- REGARDING STEPS OR OTHER OBSTRUCTIONS: ANY steps, curbs, railroad ties, rocks, sheds, trees, low overhangs or other obstacles - that are in the pathway from or to the spa - require pictures sent to our cell phone at (541) 787 1191 in advance. Thank you.

***AVOIDABLE ADDITIONAL SERVICE CHARGES***
Please help us keep your costs down by taking a few minutes prior to our arrival:
- If the spa has not been reasonably drained and ready to move prior to our arrival, then a $50 charge may be added to your estimate for that service. A little water is expected.
- Spas that contain even small amounts of putrid or foul standing water MUST be treated with chlorine bleach well in advance of our arrival or a $50 charge may be added. Simply pour a little household bleach into those areas of the spa at least 24 hours ahead to kill any bacteria that is present to keep our crew safe.
- Water-logged covers (150+lbs) that are unreasonably difficult to safely move will add $50 to your estimate and may be damaged due to excessive weight for which we are not responsible. If the inside of the cover lining is holding a lot of water, often making an inconspicuous hole in it will allow it to drain overnight, eliminating as much as 2/3 of the weight.
- We do not move spas through dog or animal droppings - or a charge of $50 may be added for pressure washing our equipment prior to our next appointment. Please clean up the pathway(s) prior to our arrival.
With good information about your spa and location, we'll take care of your spa move with a cheerful attitude and prompt, reliable service. Please remember, the effort you take prior to our arrival will keep your costs at or below our estimate.
